There are currently three larger marinas in Phuket with capacity of over 500 boats. Due to congestion, especially during the peak seasons from October to April, two additional large marinas are now under construction in Phuket and planned to be in operation in 1-2 years time.
Three boats with Volvo Penta IPS systems have already found their way to Phuket from other parts of the world. And more and more boats are coming.
To safeguard a good service and support to these boats, Volvo Penta has recently conducted IPS service training in Phuket. Participant included technicians from Volvo Penta service dealers/distributors, boat dealers and operators of boats powered by IPS.
The Volvo Penta dealer in Phuket is "YSE Marine Engineering Company" - a well equipped workshop, located in the marina Phuket Boat Lagoon. In 2006, YSE was appointed as Volvo Penta Authorized Service Center.
*YSE today has 15 people employed, including 12 technicians and a workshop integrated with marine accessories shop. YSE is equipped with Volvo Penta tools including “Vodia” and technicians certified/ trained to handle Volvo Penta electronic products.
