The leaders from Shanghai World Expo Bureau and delegations from Swedish Embassy/Consulate and Volvo Group attended the ceremony. Sweden will build a 3,000 m2 independent pavilion. Last November, Sweden toned “Sweden- Spirit of Innovation” as the theme for its participation in 2010 Shanghai World Expo. In the meantime, Sustainability, Innovation and Communication are three key words that highlight the charm of Sweden, innovation of science and technology in city environment improvement, rural-urban interaction as well as economic prosperity in the city.
As the largest industrial enterprise in Sweden, the Volvo Group supports the Sweden Pavilion.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Volvo also offered the guests an opportunity to witness and experience the EC55 compact excavator from Volvo Construction Equipment, and BRT city bus from Volvo’s joint venture Sunwin Bus. Quality, safety and environmental care are the core values that form the Volvo Group’s common base and permeate the Group’s organization, products and way of working.
