The state-of-the-art Volvo Trucks facility at Hosakote is a comprehensive hub, housing a complete cab manufacturing facility, [welding, painting, and trimming] units, axle assembly, and the final assembly and testing for completely built trucks. Our plant is dedicated to delivering fully built solutions to our customers with a factory-fitted and fully integrated superstructure. In a recent development, the plant expanded its operations to include the assembly of Volvo Cars through an assembly agreement signed with Volvo Auto India Private Limited.

Today, our truck plant in Hosakote is thriving as an inclusive workplace, with over 250 employees across various functions. By the end of 2023, the plant had produced more than 25,000 Volvo trucks, marking a significant milestone and showcasing our capabilities and dedication to our customers.

Our Hosakote site is more than just an assembly plant. It's a testament to our commitment to sustainability. The site at Hosakote also has a Volvo Buses Assembly Plant and a Volvo Construction Equipment Customer Experience Center, as well as a fully equipped driver training center, technical training center, state-of-the-art validation track for product verification, and standard test track for production confirmation and driver training.

The Regional Distribution Centre, located at Hosakote, Bengaluru, supports all Volvo Group businesses across India, including Volvo Trucks, Volvo Bus, Volvo Construction Equipment, and Volvo Penta. Sales and Marketing’s Aftermarket Commercial function is the primary interface with these entities.

Production Logistics in India is primarily represented by Operational and Development functions and employs nearly 30 employees from four locations - Hosakote, Peenya, Bagmane Tech Park, Bengaluru, and Pithampur. Our core responsibilities include:

Manage the Volvo Group Logistics Operations in India (including Joint Venture with VECV) on international and domestic transport.
Packaging solutions for inbound materials to our Indian & overseas Plants and their suppliers
Supporting outbound Product distribution & transit yards for the Plants.
Transport Design for new logistical flows & Transport Optimization of existing flows
Center of Excellence for Logistics Sustainability for TO International Region
Logistics Management Sourcing Support for APAC region from 2024
Global Support Centre of Transport Management System & Process for Europe & Americas from 2024

We proudly serve Volvo Trucks, Buses, Construction Equipment in India, and the Powertrain, Trucks, and Bus Plants of VE Commercial Vehicles in Pithampur. Additionally, we oversee transit storage yards for Volvo CE in Bangalore & Chennai and for Volvo Penta in Pithampur. We also manage material exports from Indian suppliers to our overseas plants in Brazil, France, Sweden & Belgium.

Since 2017, we’ve successfully managed Volvo’s export/import activities across multiple regions. In 2024, we launched a Global Support Center in India and started logistics sourcing support for APAC suppliers.

Remanufacturing is vital in Powertrain Production, delivering prosperity through innovative solutions for Volvo Group Business Areas. We are committed to sustainability, leveraging our expertise and craftsmanship to make business seamless and reliable. With six remanufacturing plants globally, we also offer core logistics solutions, ensuring smooth operations for all Business Areas. Additionally, GTO Remanufacturing produces spare parts for engines and gearboxes/transmissions that are no longer in serial production.

Our remanufacturing plant in India, established in 2015, is dedicated to providing Volvo CE and Volvo Trucks customers with a reliable aftermarket solution for engines and gearboxes. This commitment is central to our operations, ensuring our customers have dependable support.

The remanufacturing facility at our Hosakote site spans 1,380 square meters and is staffed by a skilled team of 15 employees. The plant specializes in producing 6—to 16-liter engines and gearboxes for Volvo CE and Volvo Trucks. Currently, the Remanufacturing Plant offers 19 products, and we plan to expand our offerings to include Volvo Penta products.
