Accounting Analyst

Volvo Financial Services (VFS) is the captive finance arm of the Volvo Group, one of the world’s leading providers of commercial transport solutions. The company provides financial services for the truck, construction equipment, bus, aerospace and marine industries. The primary brands it supports are Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Mack Truck and Prevost Bus. Financial services are delivered to customers through VFS with Volvo Group dealers, allowing customers to enjoy the benefits of a convenient, and one stop-shop experience.
This position is responsible for maintaining accounting control procedures, performing monthly account analysis for general ledger accounts, compile and analyzing financial information to prepare entries, and maintaining general ledger accounts for the VFS Canada legal entity.
RESPONSIBILITIES

·Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to and reconcile the general ledger accounts to subledger accounts.

·Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, capital, and prepares balance sheet, and other monthly reports to summarize current and projected financial position.

·Responsible for maintaining accounting control procedures and performing monthly account analysis for general ledger accounts.

·Responsible for preparing account reconciliations.

·Participate in the preparation of tax declarations for HST/PST/QST and corporate taxes with Senior Tax Analyst

·Respond thoroughly and efficiently to both internal and external customer requests to resolve issues.

·Perform special projects as required to support management.


EDUCATION

·Degree in Accounting or Finance


EXPERIENCE

·3-5 or more years accounting experience; financial services, leasing industry or public accounting experience preferred. General ledger systems experience required.


SKILLS

·Strong PC experience with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools is an asset.

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills supported by effective interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity.

·Must have strong organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to prioritize work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast paced, demanding environment.
