The Volvo Group International Internship Program is an exclusive concept, where we invite you, as a student at one of our Preferred Talent Partner universities, to match your dreams and career ambitions and become one of the students chosen for an international internship within the Volvo Group.

You can also apply for the program as a student at our Research Partner Universities: University of Skövde and Mälardalens University.

What we offer

The Volvo Group International Internship experience is one of our most exciting offerings. The program gives you the chance to get to know the Volvo Group from the inside. During a period of two to six months, you get to live and work in a foreign country, join a team of professionals and take on challenging assignments in different business areas and functions. We will help you with accommodation, expenses for a round trip, an allowance to cover your living expenses and administrative assistance, for instance with your work permit or visa application.

The Volvo Group International Internship Program offers you the possibility to join one of our teams in France, Sweden, India, Japan or the US. However, since we are a global company with more than 95,000 employees in over 190 markets, you will interact with people across all cultures and functions – the world will be your workplace.

Bear in mind the following criteria to be met:

  • You are in the 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor's degree or the 1st year of a Master's degree at one of our Preferred Talent Partner universities. See list above.
  • You have a strong grade point average, proficiency in English and evidence of leadership experience and/or community service or involvement in student networks.
  • You have a valid passport and, if you’re applying for an internship in the USA, a driver’s licence.
Internship process

Application and recruitment process

1. Apply

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Please note that if you are interested in applying for several countries or positions, you will have to submit your application to each country or position.

2. Online interview

If selected, you will be invited to a short virtual interview within six to eight weeks from the date you submitted the application.

3. Interview

The shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with one of the recruiters from Volvo Group.

4. Selection

If you are among the final candidates, you will be put in contact with your future host manager at Volvo Group and the local Human Resources department to arrange your international internship within the Volvo Group. 

5. Internship onboarding

Now you are welcome to join the world of Volvo Group and you will get the opportunity to get to know the company and develop yourself.
