Hagerstown

The Hagerstown manufacturing campus is home to approximately 1,400 highly skilled employees, with about 1,000 (71%) proudly represented by the UAW, underscoring a strong tradition of good manufacturing jobs and collaboration. The site features a 1.5 million square-foot advanced manufacturing facility producing engines, transmissions, axles, and Modular Power Boxes for zero-emission battery electric vehicles. It also includes a dedicated Powertrain R&D center and engine development lab, supporting continuous innovation in powertrain technology. Complementing these capabilities is a new, state-of-the-art Vehicle Propulsion Lab, a 35,000 square-foot facility representing a $42 million investment in the future of sustainable transportation. Components produced in Hagerstown are used in Mack Trucks, Volvo Trucks, Prevost coaches, and Volvo buses, demonstrating the campus’ critical role in global transportation.

Environmental Care is at the core or heart of what we do here.  We are ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified and work closely with the Department of Energy on continual improvement of our environmental footprint.  Since 2010, the campus has reduced our energy intensity by over 60%.

In recent years, the campus has hired approximately 350 people into manufacturing and engineering positions, further strengthening both the workforce and the local economy.
