Investor Update
On March 28, 2012 Volvo and Eicher Motors Ltd had a joint investor event in Pithampur, India.
In 2008 AB Volvo and Eicher Motors ltd established a joint venture, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), for trucks and buses. VECV is currently the third largest producer of commercial vehicles in India and number one in in medium-duty trucks with a market share above 30%. During the last couple of years the joint-venture has expanded its product offering into heavy-duty trucks and also invested in new manufacturing facilities. The largest investment is the brand new engine plant that will produce the new Volvo Group medium-duty engine.
