Volvo Construction Equipment confirms commitment to its forestry industry customers

Through its more than 50 years of experience building machines for the forestry industry, Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has built up a very strong position in most of this segment which remains one of the company’s targeted markets, with products that generate good returns for Volvo customers, dealers and Volvo CE.

Volvo’s full line of wheel loaders (Volvo L60F through Volvo L350F Log Loader) were specially designed to withstand the abuse encountered in this tough environment. They are used extensively in the log handling industry and have a well-deserved reputation for high productivity, efficiency, reliability and flexibility and will remain a mainstay in the forestry segment.

The Volvo Tracked Forestry Carriers (Volvo FC2421C, Volvo FC2924C and Volvo FC3329C) are also products where Volvo has a strong track record and highly skilled internal resources to deliver excellent products and value to its customers. Volvo dealers have built up a customer base and the capabilities to support them and Volvo CE will continue to deliver these products to support its dealers and their customers.

Volvo has decided to cease production of its Feller Bunchers, and to focus its attention on those products where it has a strong foothold. The existing machine population will continue to be supported by Volvo Construction Equipment and its dealers.
Sam Wyant, VP Sales at Volvo CE North America, said that “the Volvo Feller Buncher is an excellent piece of equipment that satisfies the needs of its owners and operators, and we regret having to remove it from our forestry product line. Rest assured that Volvo will remain a major supplier of other types of equipment in the forestry segment that will perform to the high satisfaction of our customers.”
