POSITION TITLE: VPS & ME Strategic Investigations Manager

POSITION DUTIES: As the Strategic Investigations Manager for the Volvo Production System and Manufacturing Engineering, responsible for evaluating all phases of project management including leading cross functional teams, stakeholder management, objectives, cost and time plan. Utilize Industrial investigation tools, considering financial and operational KPIs to manage and generate industrial cases regarding make or buy, capacity footprint and depth of engagement
analysis for multiple heavy duty truck manufacturing plants. Participate in the development of the Master Plan defining a plant strategy in terms of future product and project portfolio. Understand, implement and utilize SCORE to support Project Costs and Resource Management activities. Act as a VPS specialist to implement lean manufacturing tools and perform assessment within different business areas. Drive the VPS way of working by coaching, training and supporting the management team and their functional groups and manage industrial investigation activities securing ISIP deliverables. Communicate with all
levels within the organization including steering committee groups to support investments, budget requests, spending, priorities and risk. Report investigation status and make recommendations to members of GTO decision meetings.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering (will accept a 3 or 4 yr degree) and 3 years experience in Project Management in Heavy Duty Trucks Manufacturing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience working with local and global cross functional teams in multiple locations on projects relating to product development and industrialization. Previous experience generating industrial business cases and understanding make or buy decisions. Understanding SAP modules in score financial solution. Deep understanding of WCM (World Class Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization to effectuate change. Occasional travel to Volvo/Mack Manufacturing/Assembly Plants.
