Development Engineer - Combustion Systems Integration&Verification

Powertrain Engineering is looking for a Combustion System Development Engineer
Do you want to be part of an innovative team and work together towards a clean future?
The Heavy Duty diesel will be around for some time and the work to reduce CO2 (reduced fuel consumption) and comply with the even more restricted emissions will be an interesting and demanding challenge. If you thrive in leading change and like to work in cross-functional teams, then we are hoping you want to join our team.
Tasks
The main task in our team is to select and integrate feature related HW-components (e.g. piston bowl, compression ratio, fuel injection system configuration, turbo) for different engine concepts. The concepts shall than be evaluated and compared to choose the best one for our next products (engines) in order to meet our customers’ expectations on quality, performance, fuel consumption and to comply with the emission legislation. The knowledge build up in the internal combustion area and development of improved work methods is also a part of the work.
You will be an important contributor in this development. We work together in close cooperation with a network consisting of our team, the Powertrain Strategy Development (AE) combustion team, colleagues within the powertrain development (design -, simulation -, software functions – and EATS) and external contacts such as universities and consultancy companies.
We plan to start up our work according to agile principles, where the team plan their activities in sprints and deliver solutions together as a team. You are encouraged to take on tasks of your own as soon as possible, with support from experienced colleagues. We strive to have an open and honest environment within the team/-s, where it is easy to ask each other for support when needed. The tasks can be either part of a larger long term project or short tasks to improve products currently in production.
Qualifications
  • Master of Science or similar technical education is preferred
  • Education or experience of engine and exhaust aftertreatment is welcome
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • License for truck (C/CE) is a merit but not a demand
Personal Profile
We are looking for a person with a positive attitude and ability to interact and cooperate effectively. Someone who has a drive to analyze/draw conclusions, deliver results and who is interested in improving work methods will be greatly appreciated.
