Product Information Manager

Product Information, an area of responsibility within Global Marketing, provides VBC with product information material such as Data Sheets, Facts Sheets and Master Presentations. The function is responsible for the production of product related technical information to be used by Sales representatives in the Business Regions (Europe, International & Americas) as well as within the Global Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs function (GMC).
VBC handles four brands (Volvo, Prevost, Nova Bus and UD) and sells its products and services in +80 countries.
THIS IS THE ROLE
We are on a change journey where product information is at the heart of what we do. At the same time the way to reach out with our product information is expected to change going forward. The Product Information Manager will have an important role to play to develop the channels/production for product information together with colleagues within the Digital Marketing & Communication Development function at GMC.
As Product Information Manager your role is to support the Business Regions and the GMC department with relevant and updated (technical) Product Information. You will also together with colleagues responsible for the VBC product range cooperate within the areas of product development and commercial management. The role also requires cooperation with other colleagues, both centrally and locally. This involves to globally coordinate all technical information of VBC products to the commercial organisation, including continuous improvements and development work such as digital data provision and interfaces.
We are now looking for a candidate to take on this role to further enhance the Product Information capability of VBC. The position as Product Information Manager requires maintaining and developing an internal network of product and communication professionals.
Even though the role has no direct reports, leadership capabilities to develop the function’s strategic impact and business contribution further is important, and you will have support from subject matter expertise. The bus business is changing rapidly with electromobility products entering the market in heavy competition. Accelerating developments in connectivity and autonomous driving are also transforming the industry going forward.
Are you the one we are looking for?
Your focus along our value chain is to create and communicate product information to support our sales executives in developing and strengthening customer relationships. You should have passion for public transport and our premium products, combined with a desire to develop a strong commercial understanding and practice to the benefit of our customers. This requires solid team work, personal drive and excellent communication skills in both English and Swedish language. It is also an advantage if you have good knowledge of the VBC product portfolio and required system applications. In addition, you probably thrive on challenges to initiate, drive and keep together a project from the very start to the end. This involves project leadership, documentation of results and being accountable for precise information to our target groups. We also see it as an advantage if you have an education in Engineering, Marketing and/or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years) from the automotive industry.
