Position description

Group Accounting is a function within Group Reporting, Tax & Control at the Volvo Group Headquarters with responsibility for the external financial reporting including related processes, such as the consolidation processes within the Volvo Group. This responsibility includes ownership of accounting instructions, time tables, and structures in the financial systems as well as development of accounting policies for the Volvo Group.
Within Group Accounting you will be part of a global and diverse team of skilled and high performance professionals who work with passion and trust each other in an open and positive atmosphere with a lot of discussions and laugh’s. Even though everyone has their own area of expertise we are willing to give each other a helping hand when needed. This is a social job and you will have the opportunity to work in close co-operation with all the Truck organizations, Business areas, Treasury and other functions at AB Volvo which will give you a broad understanding about the Volvo Group and possibilities to work with and learn more about additional areas other than your own area of expertise.
At the Department Accounting for Financial Instruments we are responsible for the accounting of all items within the finance net, as well as financial assets and liabilities within the Volvo Group. We are also responsible for important areas such as calculation of the cash flow as well as calculation of the currency exposure and currency effect for the Volvo Group.

Job description

As a Group Accounting Specialist, you will be a part of the Accounting for Financial Instruments department and thereby actively participate in the development and harmonization of the financial reporting process within our area of responsibility. You will also be a part of the Volvo Group's closing and consolidation process by ensuring a correct application of Volvo Group’s accounting policies and procedures and will actively take part in the closing by collecting information, performing calculations and make postings in the consolidation system within our area of responsibility. You will contribute with ad-hoc analyzes to management and you will be in contact with internal and external auditors during their respective audit processes.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or MSc in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience and knowledge
  • Working experience from finance department including analysis of company reporting and/or consolidation
  • Experience from SAP or other major consolidation systems and user knowledge in Microsoft office
  • Experience from Volvo Financial Reporting processes is a merit
  • All documentation is in English, why proficiency in the English language is required
  • Fluency in written and spoken Swedish is a requirement
