US award to Volvo Penta

Volvo Penta’s new D6-310 marine diesel engine has been honored with the Editors’ Choice Award by the American boating magazine Motor Boating.

During the autumn 2003, Volvo Penta launched the D4-210 and D6-310,  a totally new generation of own developed marine diesel engines with outputs of 3.7 and 5.5 liters, respectively.

The engines, which are installed in 22- to 45-foot boats, have been very well received by boat builders as well as the trade press.

In conjunction with the international boat show in Miami, Florida, the D6-310 was recognized with the Editors’ Choice Award by the American boating magazine Motor Boating.

“In many ways the D6 represents the engine of the future,” writes the magazine and concludes that the engine features an array of state-of-the-art components that deliver strong acceleration and fuel economy.

Volvo Penta has successively increase production capacity during the autumn and winter at its engine plant in Vara, Sweden, to meet the high demand on the D4-210 and D6-310.
