Record start for Volvo Penta IPS in USA

Volvo Penta IPS is off to an exceptionally strong start in the US. This is particularly attributable to the American boat builder Tiara Yachts, which set new sales records with its new IPS-equipped boat, Sovran 4000.
In conjunction with the winter’s major boat shows in Europe and the US, Volvo Penta has launched its new drive system for boats, Volvo Penta IPS.

Many of the world’s largest boat builders have also launched new boat models equipped with the new drive system at these shows.

US-based Tiara Yachts has capitalized on all of the IPS system’s benefits in the Sovran 4000 boat model. Among other features, the new 40-foot boat has gained considerably more internal space compared with comparable boats equipped with a traditional shaft installation.

Interest in the new boat has been record high. In conjunction with the recently completed boat show in Miami, Tiara more than doubled its earlier sales record – thanks to the Sovran 4000 and the new IPS system. The company sold more than 25 of the new boats solely during the show.

“I have not seen anything like this before at Tiara Yachts. As a result of the integration of revolutionary technology and superb design that takes advantage of all that the IPS system brings to the table, we knew we had something special, but we had no idea that we would realize this magnitude of sales success so soon,” says Dave Northrop, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Tiara Yachts.

Volvo Penta IPS received the “Best of the Year Award” from the US magazine Motor Boating at the Miami Boat Show.
