Volvo Trucks customers and enthusiasts roll online at www.volvotruckscommunity.com

Volvo Trucks’ customers love to talk about their trucks. And why not? They love the trucks’ smooth and quiet ride, safety, power, fuel economy and great looks. Now they can easily reach like-minded Volvo enthusiasts via www.volvotruckscommunity.com, a special website developed by Volvo Trucks North America.

The new online community allows owners, drivers and fans of Volvo trucks to post photos and videos of their trucks, share stories of life on the road, discuss best practices and tips, and whatever else is on their minds.  In addition to their peer-to-peer discussions of the trucking industry, the community keeps them up-to-speed on special offers and promotions from Volvo Trucks.

“Volvo Trucks customers are a special group,” said Scott Kress, senior vice president – sales & marketing.  “They know modern technology, they know trucks and trucking and they aren’t tied to old school equipment choices.  They demand modern, productive and efficient trucks.  And they like to share their experience with their peers in the trucking industry.  Our online community gives them a social network, centered around Volvo Trucks, to meet like minded people.”

Volvotruckscommunity.com also gives members the opportunity to chat online with Volvo Trucks brand ambassadors TJ Tilcox, of Ice Road Truckers fame, and Don Turkelson, winner of the 2008 Back on the Road campaign.

Other features of the online community include a Volvo Truck dealer locator, a link to Volvo Trucks on YouTube, industry news and a calendar of events.  Members will also have priority registration for special Volvo promotions and contests.

In the short time since the community went live, one driver has already used the site to show an eye-popping miles per gallon result for a recent run, while others have posted photos of their trucks.
