In the beginning of September the jury of five-members began to compare the market’s range of newest long haul trucks with each other within LithuanianTransport Leaders project. The jury, consisting of four professional transport company representatives and truck magazine “Transporto pasaulis” journalist, investigated DAF XF, Renault Magnum, Scania R, Volvo FH, Iveco Stralis, Mercedes-Benz Actros and MAN TGX trucks. The jury awarded the new Volvo FH Truck of the Year 2009.
“We are extremely proud with Truck of the Year award received by our new Volvo FH in Lithuania. The trophy emphasizes leading position of Volvo FH range in long haulage segment which is dominating in Lithuania,” says Are Knoph, managing director of Volvo Lietuva. “It confirms that we can succesfully develop our position in other segments and above all to remain the best business partner for our all customers who are the real winners of the award.”
Truck of the Year by People choice award
The category Truck of the Year by People choice aimed to reveal the best truck on the Lithuanian market in the opinion of truck owners, drivers and enthusiasts. Visitors of the Lithuanian Transport Leaders’ website had the chance to submit their votes for the survey lasting over a period of several months. Most of the votes were dedicated to the new Volvo FH.
“The Truck of the Year award voted by our customers is strong proof of the good job performed by the Volvo organization in Lithuania. It shows that we are working with right customer values,” says Are Knoph. “New Volvo product range is in a strong position to continue development of the business in Lithuania.”
Volvo truck wins Truck of the Year by People choice award for the second consecutive year. Last year the trophy was awarded to Volvo FE.
The Awards were presented to Are Knoph, General Manager of Volvo Lietuva, at the official Transport Leaders 2009 ceremony held on October 17 in Vilnius.
