“This is a win-win for Volvo IT and all our customers, since it will allow us to bring more synergies and best practises into the organisation, says Olle Högblom, Vice President, Customer Relations & Sales at Volvo IT.
During a period of five years, with an option for another two plus two-year extensions, Volvo IT will be delivering IT support in the form of a service desk (support and service), workplace systems (all PCs will be replaced) and co-ordinated server operation.
The City of Stockholm runs operations in 2,000 different places and has 48,000 employees and 80,000 school pupils.
The project will begin immediately and the first deliveries will be made in September. The competitors now have ten days to appeal against the decision to the City of Stockholm.
