Tow mode works like this: When wakeboarding, water skiing or tubing, the driver activates the tow mode function on the new side-mounted control. Full throttle then gives full acceleration until the boat reaches the preset rpm. Tow mode keeps preset rpm under all driving conditions, automatically compensating for changes in load as the boarder or skier makes sharp turns.
The result is better water sport thanks to the fast acceleration and constant speed. Safety is also enhanced, since there is no risk for boat speed to be too high, even with full throttle acceleration. The driver also does not need to look down at the speedometer.
Tow mode is available as an option for all Volvo Penta Aquamatic single installation with EVC. Gasoline from model year 2010 and diesel from model year 2011.
