Uptime Up and owning costs Down at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011

Volvo Construction Equipment will showcase its total solutions credentials by highlighting products and services that increase customer uptime and lower owning and operating costs.

Once a customer buys a machine that’s not the end of the story, but rather the beginning of a long term relationship with Volvo Construction Equipment. Encompassing its commitment to the complete ownership experience, Volvo is using its presence at CONEXPO 2011 to demonstrate how genuine parts, products and services can cater to every aspect of a machine’s productive life. This ranges from purchase financing through a machine’s life cycle until its eventual refurbishment, disposal or reuse. A particular focus at CONEXPO will be how Volvo can help increase customer uptime and lower owning and operating costs.

Customer support products and services on display in the Volvo booth include:

CareTrack. Volvo Construction Equipment’s state-of-the-art telematics system can manage a machine’s productivity and maximize its availability for work. Using GPRS (mobile network) or satellite technology to send information, data is available securely and instantaneously to any remote online connection. Through fault reporting and activity warnings and by facilitating remote diagnosis, the goal is that machine problems will be identified sooner and resolved faster. Machine operation and deployment can be optimized via functions that monitor fuel consumption, location, hours of operation, speed and approaching service intervals.

At the show there will be a live display of a CareTrack Solution Center at work. Recording the activities of real machines and real jobsites, visitors will see and experience the benefits of the system firsthand; and how CareTrack provides service reminders, the ability to see service history and current location and performance.

Volvo service truck. Stocked with genuine Volvo parts, diagnostic tools and driven by highly trained expert dealer technicians, a service truck extends the reach of dealers’ customer support operations. A service truck in the booth will help to tell the story of field support through Volvo dealers for rapid machine service and repair.

Refurbishment and remanufacturing. As an alternative to buying new machinery or parts, why not opt for Volvo Reman good-as-new remanufactured components – or have your machine substantially refurbished, approved and inspected by Volvo dealers? Experts will be on hand during the show to explain the scope and benefits of both initiatives.

MATRIS analysis. Volvo dealers can provide an analysis of machine operating activity via this tool. MATRIS analysis supports optimized machine operation by tracking activity characteristics and identifying opportunities for improvement – resulting in better economy and reduced wear.

Oil analysis. Customers can plan maintenance as well as reduce the risk of unplanned downtime and expensive repairs through oil analysis. It provides a thorough health check-up of the machine’s systems by analyzing oils in the engine, transmission, hydraulic system, axles and brakes as well as coolant and fuel.

Customer Support Agreements. Volvo equips its distribution partners with agreements that allow dealers and customers to tune service levels to specific time periods or conditions such as machine mix, age, application or even the degree to which a customer self services their fleet.

Genuine Volvo Parts and Volvo Attachments. No premium manufacturer can say their offer is complete without a comprehensive parts offering. This includes kit solutions, remanufactured parts or application-specific solutions like attachments and ground engaging tools.

Volvo Service Technicians. Frontline Volvo support is a prime reason customers remain dedicated to Volvo. Volvo service technicians are on site at CONEXPO to help deliver a real world perspective on the ‘total solutions’ message.
