Volvo Penta is the Volvo Group’s sales channel to the external engine market. With large investments in product development and product innovation, Volvo Penta has in recent years created a high-tech and highly competitive product range.

At Bauma in Munich three years ago, Volvo Penta for the first time launched SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) as its technological choice of path for meeting the 2011 emission requirements. Volvo Penta also chose the SCR technology to meet the 2014 emission requirements and will at Bauma this year introduce a complete Tier 4/Final off-road engine range between 5 and 16 liters.

Prototype deliveries of the new product range have started and Volvo Penta has already secured supply agreements with world-leading industrial customers.

“We currently have strong growth in the off-road segment and it is satisfying that our new product program has been so well received in the market. The engines’ fuel efficiency and superior cost of ownership are appreciated by more and more customers,” says Volvo Penta’s CEO, Björn Ingemanson.

Volvo Penta focuses on a number of selected segments in which the goal is to have the industry’s most competitive customer offer. These segments are Material handling, Construction, Raw materials exploration and Power generation.

“We deliver not only engines, but also soft offers and aftermarket solutions that help our customers to make better business. One good example is our new Start/Stop function that contributes to significant fuel savings,” says Björn Ingemanson.

Through close cooperation with Volvo Construction Equipment and by using the strength of the Volvo Group's total service offer, Volvo Penta can offer world-leading industrial engine customers effective support in the form of global aftermarket services.

“We are continuously developing our service and dealer network, and there we have unique possibilities to benefit from the Volvo Group’s strong global presence. It suits us perfectly in our ambition to attract large, global industrial customers,” says Björn Ingemanson.
