Check out an icy rendition of a Volvo soil compactor at IceFest ’14!
Downtown Chambersburg hosted IceFest ’14 Thursday, January 30th – Sunday, February 2nd. This year Volvo Construction Equipment sponsored a giant ice sculpture at this popular community event.
A Volvo CE soil compactor was carved out of a solid block of ice live on Thursday, January 30th. The sculpture was located on the southwest quad of the square (the sidewalk area in front of Central Presbyterian Church) for the entire weekend.
Many people braved the cold this weekend to see how a block of ice was transformed into a Volvo compactor! IceFest ’14 featured over 70 ice sculptures and a giant ice slide, along with oodles of events throughout the entire weekend for adults and families with children.
