The Index ranks the world’s leading companies in terms of their sustainability efforts. The included companies across all industries have a common denominator; they outperform their peers in numerous sustainability metrics.
“I’m very proud that the Volvo Group has qualified yet again for the DJSI World. It is an important index as it reflects what we do to create long-term value for our stakeholders and society”, says Eva Lindebäck Brandt, Director CSR Stakeholder Management at the Volvo Group Headquarters.
The Volvo Group has also been acknowledged for improvements related to human capital development, social reporting and tax strategy. Other important areas are the positive trend in product stewardship and customer relationship management.
“The inclusion in a credible index, like the DJSI World, is very valuable when liaising with our stakeholders and especially so for our relations with the capital market.” says Eva Lindebäck Brandt.
About the index:
Approximately 3,400 of the largest companies in the world are invited to participate in the assessment for qualification in the DJSI indices. The annual review is based on analysis of the various companies’ business ethics, environmental achievements and social performance which impact the companies’ long-term financial performance.
The review of input data is conducted by RobecoSAM in Switzerland, and generally has considerable influence on which investments are made by funds and individuals who formulate their investment decisions based on criteria such as ethics and sustainability.
