Göran Gummeson has been appointed the new President of Volvo Penta. He succeeds Staffan Jufors, who was earlier appointed President of Volvo Trucks.
Göran Gummeson, who assumes his new duties on November 1, 2004, will also be a member of the Volvo Group Executive Committee.
Göran Gummeson, 57, has held various positions at Volvo Penta since 1991, with responsibility for both marine engines and industrial engines. Since 1998, he has been head of Volvo Penta’s European operations, which account for approximately 50 percent of Volvo Penta’s total sales.
“Together with the other members of Volvo Penta´s executive team, Göran Gummeson has helped to create the preconditions for the past few years’ impressive earnings development. With his thorough knowledge of the industry and its customers, Göran Gummeson will be able to lead Volvo Penta to a continued strong performance in the future,” says Volvo CEO Leif Johansson.
