Veolia Environmental Services chooses Volvo refuse trucks

The world’s leading Group in refuse handling, Veolia Environmental Services, has appointed Volvo Trucks as its preferred supplier of refuse trucks for the company’s operations in Europe. A framework agreement on continued cooperation has been signed by the two companies.

“This offers us immense scope for increasing both volumes and market shares within an important and growing segment,” says Claes Nilsson, President Volvo Trucks Europe. “Veolia Environmental Services is the world leader within its area and operates 13,000 refuse trucks in Europe alone. Being appointed as one of their preferred suppliers is naturally immensely encouraging.”

Excellent experiences – shared values
Behind the agreement now being signed lies a two-year cooperative venture whereby Volvo Trucks has delivered refuse trucks and services to Veolia Environmental Services, mainly in UK but also in France, Germany,  Denmark and Norway.

“We have excellent experiences of Volvo’s vehicles and service organisation,” says Jérôme Lecardonnel at Veolia Environmental Services. “This is one major reason why we are now strengthening our relationship. 2008 is the year of the safety for Veolia Environnement, this value is shared by both Veolia and Volvo.
“What is more, we have many shared values, not least when it comes to the environment. For instance, we are monitoring Volvo’s development of hybrid vehicles with considerable interest,” says Patrice Germe, also at Veolia Environmental Services.
