Volvo Penta Receives Sixth Consecutive Customer Satisfaction Award
Marine Industry Recognizes Volvo Penta in the Sterndrive Engines Category

(CHESAPEAKE, VA) August 6, 2009 –Volvo Penta is honored to have received its sixth consecutive National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) CSI Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction for the 2009 program year.  The only award winner in the Sterndrive Engines category,  Volvo Penta was recognized as having achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction based on information provided by consumers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009. Participating manufacturers must survey all new boat buyers during this period. For this reporting period, more than 60,000 consumer responses were collected.

NMMA President Thomas Dammrich will present the award to Volvo Penta of the Americas President Clint Moore at the Annual International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) Industry Breakfast in Miami, FL in October, 2009. The CSI awards highlight commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as well as support of industry efforts to improve the consumer boating experience.

"Our independent OEM customers are integral in helping us win this pretigious award for the sixth straight year, thanks to their attention to detail in the application and installation of our products" said Moore.

"Equally important are our dealers who are on the front lines of safe guarding and ensuring our mutual customer satisfaction.  Without them, this award would not be possible."

“This reaffirms our desire to provide new, innovative sterndrive product technology, such as Volvo Penta’s OceanX™ drive.  The OceanX uses state-of-the-art electro-deposit application of a titanium-ceramic coating for optimum corrosion resistence and sensor technology, never before seen. The new technology dramatically raises the customer’s experience in terms of quality, reliability and safety, ensuring that we will continue to exceed customer expectations" Moore concluded.

The spirit of the NMMA CSI Award Program is to elevate the importance of customer satisfaction and recognize industry best practices that result in improved boating experiences.
