Single-lever mode

Together with the new series of controls, Volvo Penta is now introducing single-lever mode for all twin engine installations (IPS also triple and quadruple).

On boats and yachts with twin engine installations, the driver uses two control levers, one for port and one for starboard. Very useful at low speed and in close-quarter maneuvering. But offshore in rough seas, handling two levers is tricky business. With the new single-lever mode activated, all engines are handled with one lever (the one the driver chooses). This makes it much easier to fine-tune engine speed, especially since the new controls offer a steady hand rest.
Automatic rpm sync

Single-lever mode also automatically synchronizes the engines’ rpm. This greatly reduces both vibrations and noise.  It is available at any engine speed and is easily turned on or off with the function button on the control.

Single-lever mode is available as an option for all Volvo Penta model year 2011 diesel and gasoline engines with EVC.
