Volvo Penta in boats of the year

When the Italian leading boat magazine Vela e Motore appointed the prize Barca dell’anno (Boat of the Year) for 2012 – 11th edition, it was Volvo Penta power in four of five categories.

Volvo Penta confirmed its position as the leisure boat industry´s market leading engine brand when the prestigious magazine Vela e Motore, est. 1923, during a ceremony in Italy on November 6 ranked the best leisure boats in Europe in 2012.

In the Motor Boat category above 10 metre, the Italian boat Sessa Marine 40 Flybridge powered with Volvo Penta IPS400 was appointed Boat of the Year.

In the Motor Boat category below 10 metre, the Italian boat Atlantis 34 powered with D3-220 or D4-260 was appointed Boat of the Year.

In the Sail Boat category above 10 metre, the French boat Dufour 500 powered with Volvo Penta D2-75 was appointed Boat of the Year.

In the Sail Boat category below 10 metre, the German boat Hanse 345 powered with Volvo Penta D1-20 or D1-30 was appointed Boat of the Year.

“The jury emphasized the low fuel consumption and spacious onboard space of the appointed boats and these are features with perfect match for our engines,” says Nicola Pomi, head of Volvo Penta engine sales in Italy.
