Volvo CE honored at Association of Equipment Manufacturers Annual Conference

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) awarded Volvo Construction Equipment a gold level ‘Pillar of the Industry Award’ for its participation in the I Make America campaign.

Representatives of 150 manufacturers from all sections of the construction and agricultural industries gathered November 7th-10th in Los Angeles, California for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) annual conference.

 

Volvo CE was honored during the conference for its support of AEM’s advocacy efforts in promoting the interests of the industry to decision makers and opinion formers in Washington, DC. A gold level “Pillar of the Industry Award” was given to the company and its employees for the work done to support the I Make America campaign which is now in its second year.

 

“It is through initiatives like I Make America that manufacturers across the United States can come together and have one voice about issues affecting our industry,” says Bill Law, Volvo Construction Equipment’s Vice President of Corporate Communication for the Americas region. “The company is committed to continue to actively engage and drive the debate on the development of the industry in the US.”

 

AEM’s conference also debated major trends and issues facing the industry in the current economic climate and provided important insights into global trends in the industry.  

 

Helping to make America

Since the I Make America campaign’s inception, employees at Volvo have shown great support for the campaign by signing up for the online petition. The company has been heavily involved as a dedicated partner contributing to its overall success.

 

Volvo CE has shown its dedication to the long-term development of the US construction industry following its $100 million investment in its manufacturing facilities in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, which will bring local manufacturing of core products to one of Volvo CE’s home markets. Volvo CE is also creating a world-class customer and demonstration center in Shippensburg, as well as an Americas Headquarters facility on its current campus, further demonstrating its commitment to the North American market.
