Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Rents unite for the United Way

A strong community is built by strong support. Two Shippensburg, Pennsylvania based Volvo Group companies, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Rents are adding a few bricks to the foundation with a donation of more than $75,000 to the United Way.

Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Rents (Volvo) believe in not just living and working in a community but also helping it to be the best that it can be. That’s why the company actively participates and donates in a number of causes and area non-profits throughout the year.

Volvo and its employees are thrilled to announce another very successful company-wide campaign to raise money for the United Way of the Shippensburg Area. And once again the company exceeded its fundraising goal.

Volvo Construction Gives to United Way

Through generous employee contributions, Volvo raised $37,818.48, exceeding the goal by $7,818.48. With the Volvo match, the company donated $75,702.16 to the United Way; an increase of $23,000 over last year’s donation. “We are very proud of our employees for seeing the positive affect they can have through any size of donation,” said Andy Williford, Vice President of Human Resources, Volvo Construction Equipment. “We live and work in this community so we all should feel a responsibility to give back in any way we can whether through monetary contributions and/or giving the gift of our time through volunteering.”

The United Way represents local non-profit agencies. Its mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
