Volvo Trucks Promotes Uptime for Customers

As part of its overall commitment to improving uptime, Volvo Trucks in North America today launched the Uptime Protection Plan, offering a credit for qualifying repairs that cannot be completed within 24 hours.

Customers registered with Volvo Uptime Protection Plan are reimbursed $100 a day for each day up to five for each warrantable engine repair that is not completed within 24 hours from the time of diagnosis. Reimbursements will be offered to the customer on a Volvo debit card that can be used at any Volvo Trucks dealership toward the payment of service, parts or accessories.

“Our customers need their trucks up and running and our dealers need their customers to be satisfied,” said David Pardue, Volvo Trucks vice president of aftermarket solutions. “Both are critical to their respective bottom lines. The introduction of Volvo’s Uptime Protection Plan not only proves Volvo’s commitment to uptime, but it also shows that we unequivocally stand behind the quality of our products.”

Uptime Protection Plan is the most recent service offering focused on uptime from Volvo Trucks. Volvo’s Uptime Protection Plan bundles together the Ride Assured pre-purchased preventative maintenance with extended warranty coverage to offer comprehensive service plans. Ride Assured can be financed with a new truck purchase.

The combination of Ride Assured, ASIST, which is Volvo’s innovative Web-based service management tool, and Remote Diagnostics, provides Volvo Trucks’ North American customers a complete suite of aftermarket solutions designed to keep their trucks on the road.

Volvo’s Remote Diagnostics, a standard feature on every Volvo-powered truck, helps maximize vehicle uptime through proactive diagnostic and repair planning assistance with detailed analysis of critical diagnostic trouble codes. It’s the first service introduced under the Connected Vehicle services category of the Volvo Trucks Support Services bundled aftermarket offering.

Volvo’s Web-based service communication platform, ASIST, facilitates live dealer and customer communication through Volvo Action Service, Volvo’s 24/7 support team. Proactive diagnostics streamline service procedures with confirmation of parts on-hand before a truck arrives at a service location, increasing uptime.
