A food and supplies collection has been conducted in the beginning of October on all Renault Trucks sites in France (Lyon, Blainville-sur-Orne, Bourg-en-Bresse, and Limoges). Through this partnership, the company aims not only, to provide material support to the organization but also to express its commitment to the regions where it operates. The employees of the company and the volunteers of the local divisions of the association are working hand in hand to guarantee the success of the campaign. Some sites even opened their doors to the volunteers to foster dialogue and allow a better understanding of the charity’s needs.
Founded by French comedian Coluche in 1985, “Les Restos du Cœur” provides assistance to those in need and has multiple areas of action (food assistance, professional reintegration, academic support etc.). Its major sources of funding are gifts and legacies, which emphasizes the relevancy of this type of partnership. The trucks and gathered goods where donated in Lyon, where the historical headquarters of Renault Trucks are located, in the beginning of November. This way, Renault Trucks hopes to contribute to the success of the 2017-2018 winter campaign of the charity.
2016 the Volvo Group decided to distribute the season’s charitable gift to its markets for use in social projects. The gifts are given on behalf of all Volvo Group employees to be used to contribute to the society's challenges in local markets, serving to create prosperity in the communities where we live and work. Iron Women is one of 14 projects that’s a part of the program.
