Over the course of two days in November we brought together interested parties from all over Europe to discuss traffic issues and share experiences, with a particular focus on the interaction between vulnerable road users and other traffic in European cities.
“The Volvo Safety Days allow us to highlight important issues and promote dialogue,” says the Volvo Group’s Safety Director Peter Kronberg, who is responsible for all the safety activities within the Group.
The Volvo Safety Days were the final event in a series of workshops organized by the Volvo Group all over Europe during the year to improve urban road safety in our European cities.
“We met government bodies and representatives from a number of different organizations including cyclists’ groups and companies from the transport industry on their home turf. The meetings were successful and rewarding.”
“We come from different sectors and often have different ideas about what is important for road safety. But these meetings have given us the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, which has helped us to identify possible improvements,” says Peter Kronberg.
At the Volvo Safety Days around 50 invited guests came to Gothenburg for two intensive days of meetings. A variety of different lectures and discussions were on the agenda.
