Giving the gift of education and health to girls across the globe

This year, the Volvo Group Seasonal Gift – given on behalf of all employees to projects worldwide – focuses on supporting the education and health of girls and young females.
Giving the gift of education and health to girls across the globe

Every winter, the Volvo Group makes a series of donations on behalf of all employees to projects and organizations around the world. The aim is to make a difference, improve quality of life and provide opportunities for people who really need it. This initiative, founded in 2016, is known as the Volvo Group Seasonal Gift.

To decide which organizations, receive the Seasonal Gift, a theme is chosen – one which addresses the challenges that currently affect society. Projects that tackle these challenges are eligible for the Seasonal Gift and nominated by country: those which are deemed most suitable then receive a donation.

For 2022, the theme for the Seasonal Gift is education and health support towards girls and young females. Girls who receive an education are less likely to marry young and more likely to lead healthy, productive lives according to UNICEF. Supporting education for young females strengthens economies and reduces inequality. It contributes to more stable, resilient societies that give all individuals – including boys and men – the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Below you will see the projects we have chosen to support with this year’s gift.
