Volvo Trucks to Showcase Advanced Vehicle Technologies at ATA MC&E

Volvo Trucks North America will showcase a portfolio of advanced transportation solutions for Class 8 trucks at the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) 2022 Management Conference & Exhibition (MC&E), October 22-25, in San Diego, California.

The next generation Volvo VNR Electric that is in operation for customer NFI Industries — a leading third-party supply chain solutions provider — will be showcased in the Volvo Trucks North America booth #15121 at the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) 2022 Management Conference & Exhibition (MC&E) October 22-25 in San Diego, California.

October 23rd Press Conference

During the Volvo Trucks’ press conference in its ATA MC&E booth on Sunday, October 23, at 2:15 p.m. PST, Voorhoeve will spotlight how the company is accelerating the shift to decarbonize transportation through improved fuel efficiency, electromobility solutions and partnerships, autonomous, and connected technologies.

Volvo VNR Electric — 6x2 Tractor & Powertrain

A Volvo VNR Electric from NFI Industries will be on display in Volvo Trucks’ booth (#15121). Volvo Trucks and its dealer partner, TEC Equipment, are supporting NFI Industries as it scales its Volvo VNR Electric fleet and works towards its goal of operating the first 100% zero-emission freight logistics fleet in the nation. The Volvo VNR Electric on display features:

  •   Up to 275 miles of range on a single charge
  •   565 kWh battery capacity, which can achieve 80% charge in 90 minutes
  • 455 hp and 4,051 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Volvo I-Shift automated manual transmission, two-speed
  • 14,600 lb. front axle
  • 23,000 lb. drive axle
  • 20,000 lb. pusher (liftable) axle
  • Volvo Active Driver Assist (VADA) 2.0

 

A long-haul, autonomy-enabled Volvo VNL model with an integrated Aurora Driver, will be showcased in the Volvo Trucks North America booth #15121 at the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) 2022 Management Conference & Exhibition (MC&E) Oct. 22-25 in San Diego, CA.

Volvo VNL 760 with integrated Aurora Driver & Volvo D13TC engine

The Volvo Trucks booth will also showcase an autonomy-enabled Volvo VNL 760 with an integrated Aurora Driver for future hub-to-hub operations. The autonomy-enabled Class 8 tractor is a part of Volvo’s Autonomous Transport Solution which is based on a Transport as a Service (TaaS) model and delivers autonomous freight capacity for shippers, carriers, logistics providers, and freight brokers.

The VNL 760 on display features:

  • Volvo D13TC engine, XE Economy 425 hp and 1750 lb.-ft. of torque
  •  13,200 lb. front axle
  •  40,000 lb. rear axle
  •  Volvo Enhanced Stability Technology (VEST)
  •  Volvo Active Driver Assist (VADA) 2.0
  •   Volvo I-Shift automated manual transmission, 12-speed
