This position is responsible for the sales team management and business development needs of Volvo Insurance Services (VIS), which includes, but is not limited to: planning, organizing, driving, professionalizing, and executing the near- and long-term sales success of the U.S. insurance business; developing and maintaining sales process and sales quality standards for insurance sales personnel; assisting insurance sales personnel in achieving sales goals; and supporting the growth and strategic goals set by management.
The National Insurance Manager reports to the Director of Digital Insurance and is expected to develop positive and productive relationships with VFS (Volvo Financial Services) District Finance Managers and Regional Sales Managers, internal departments, Volvo/Mack Truck and Construction Dealer personnel, and customers of VFS.

RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop and maximize the success of insurance team sales personnel by leading with integrity, energy, focus, professionalism, consistency, and inspiration. • Close, daily interaction with insurance sales and account management colleagues to lead and motivate them and to ensure successful customer experience and sales outcomes. • Serve as the primary, lead liaison between the U.S. Insurance team and the U.S. Truck and Construction Equipment finance channel sales leaders. • Represent the U.S. insurance team for Marketing initiatives. • Represent the U.S. insurance team for alignment initiatives across Volvo and Mack brands. • Support brand and dealer integration, program development, internal and external trainings, product implementations, Digital & IT integrations, and marketing initiatives. • Extensive travel when necessary to meet prospects and customers, at times with or without insurance sales personnel; drive Truck and Construction Equipment finance channel insurance sales opportunities from west coast to east coast and in all contiguous stats. • Proactively articulate sales strategy and quantify sales results and goals clearly and regularly to management, and meet and exceed quantitative and qualitative sales goals and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). • Develop, codify, and continuously optimize insurance sales processes for Truck, Construction Equipment, and Dealership insurance prospects and customers. • Collaborate and work closely with VIS’s Insurance Operations and Account Manager (IOAM) to ensure prospect and customer service needs are met and sales processes align with agency standards. • Work closely and daily with sales team personnel in designing, planning, and adhering to time management protocols, inter-team communication protocols, and calendar contingency planning protocols to ensure team back-up support needs are voiced, anticipated, understood, and met well in advance. • Plan, organize, schedule, and agenda-drive regular sales team meetings. • Plan, organize, schedule, and agenda-drive regular meetings with internal stakeholders who influence, support, and provide impactful VIS insurance business needs. • Organize, manage, and drive business sales and development initiatives on existing and new waiver and insurance programs. • Identify opportunities to improve sales conversion and customer experience activities. • Travel extensively as business needs require. • Other duties as required by management.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE • 10 or more years of sales and/or business development management experience. Trucking, construction, and dealership experience and understanding are a plus. • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or other relevant field • Attention to detail and ability to near-term plan and contingency plan with future in mind. • Strong management, verbal, written, presentation, training, and negotiation skills. • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, continuously-evolving environment. • High level of integrity with a positive customer and quality focus. • Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Office. • Comfortable producing detailed monthly (and as needed in between) dashboard sales results and sales effectiveness reporting to management. • Cross-functional team player who works well within, and in support of, a team environment. • Strong problem-solving, sales, and team management skills. • Proven ability to close sales deals, retain customers, and ensure excellent and consistent long-term customer experiences.
