Product Manager, EV Services & Solutions

Mack and Volvo Trucks are searching for a Product Manager to shape the Technology/Electric Vehicle (EV) integrated service offerings for Mack & Volvo Trucks in N. America. As the Product Manager you will understand customer, market, financing, business and technology requirements and have a holistic view of the end-to-end processes. You will collaborate with the Commercial Truck Organizations, Volvo Financial Services, Business Control, GTX functions and Aftermarket to develop new integrated EV services, share requirements and coordinate project deliverables to support Volvo Group’s zero carbon emission future.

This position can be located in Greensboro, Charlotte or Raleigh, NC and will be hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office in Greensboro, NC).
What you’ll do:
  • Develop and maintain product roadmap for EV integrated service offering including connected vehicle services, support services and service contracts. Define product requirements and positioning based on market research, voice-of-customer/feedback and by working directly with other internal commercial owners as well as external partners.
  • Collaborate with Connected Vehicle Services, Trucks Commercial Organizations and Group Trucks Technology on requirements and prioritization of EV connected services for Vehicle Connectivity, Energy Storage System (ESS) performance and State of Health (SOH) monitoring, Charging System Management, Route Planning and Optimization, etc.
  • Support GTNA Battery Life Cycle Management that addresses battery Remaining Useful Life (RUL) and End of Useful life (EOL), battery second life opportunities, remanufacturing strategy in collaboration with GTX functions, EMOB, Business Control, Parts, and Service Marketing Logistics.
  • Partner with Volvo Financial Services to explore and implement integrated EV services into Electric Vehicle-as-a-Service (EVaas) concept as a new way to bring Electric Vehicles to market
  • Develop commercialization plan for integrated service offering; go-to-market strategy, business model, pricing and promotion for national/fleet accounts, general retail and leasing channels.
  • Develop and manage competitive intelligence to ensure strong positioning of service contracts within North America. Provide competitive assessment on offering to the Retail Development and Uptime management team.
  • Manage the pricing structure of integrated service offering to drive profitable growth measured by penetration rate, adoption, usage and contribution margin. Anchor sales forecasts with Mack Trucks and VTNA.
  • Oversee marketing and collateral development for products and program offers to ensure value proposition is clearly communicated. Ensure material is made available in set communication channels.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for integrated service offering. Provide sales support to truck sales organizations and dealers. Train Truck Sales and Service teams on product offering.
What drives success for this role:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in product, channel or engineering management. Must have OEM Experience within commercial vehicles or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Proven record building and launching new products and programs.
  • Excellent project management experience.
  • Experience understanding and working with technical concepts.
  • Requires the mastery of standard Microsoft applications (Word, Power Point, Excel)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand high level and low level business and technical concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional presentation skills.
  • Must be able to travel for business needs (up to 25%)
