What You Will Be Doing

This Commodity Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of suppliers within the Cab Exterior segment. You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network during production and after production for Revenue segments. This position will be based out of Greensboro, NC and will report to the Head of Cab Exterior Purchasing North America.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and TR with support from Engineering
  • Have experience in Exterior or Class A plastics, such as inj./blow/roto or SMC/RIM molding, production and process with various Raw Material content
  • Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value
  • Understanding of Cost break downs and how each element contributes into the pricing
  • Good Negotiation and Contracting to secure risks
  • Contribute as a member or leader in cross-functional teams for the segment strategy development and product roadmap
  • Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies
  • Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management targets (QDCFTSR)
  • Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team ensuring active contributions to the PPAP and APQP process
  • Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
  • Manage and negotiate product/processes changes during production phase and after production phase for Revenue segments
  • Monitor supplier manufacturing plan, and identify and mitigate any risks
  • Ensure that the supplier and its labor force is prepared for production
  • Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers
What We Are Looking For
  • 3+ years of strategic purchasing experience (supplier negotiations, sourcing, etc.)
  • Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage but not required
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen, agile in way of working
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field, or equivalent working experience
