Eligibility: PhD Scholars registered with any university in India or abroad in a relevant academic discipline, currently employed or doing projects in specifically identified areas (Currently pursuing Ph.D).

What do we doWe are the Powertrain Engineering Team in Volvo Group Trucks Technology, a dynamic team working towards enabling the Technology organization in evaluating futuristic products and services for Volvo business units such as trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine applications.
In the Powertrain team, we are working in a cross-functional set up from system/function design & development, software integration and calibration to verification of our features in products.
We believe teamwork and collaboration is the foundation for great products and an attractive workplace. Therefore, we work in an agile SAFe inspired way where everyone is part of a scrum team of 5-8 colleagues with complementary skills committed to a common purpose. What will you do- Play a role in the process of development of Alternate Fuel Technology System and components requirements including performance, mechanical and structural characteristics, thermal management and electrical/mechanical interfaces
- Provide Tech expertise for alternate fuel ICE in sub-systems like: combustion, air & gas management, EATS, Fuel System, Oil & Cooling system.
- Work & provide expertise ways to Improvise H2 storage, filtration, transportation, energy utilization
- Business Acumen- technology evolution & corresponding business opportunities (Global/Local market)
- Network within the organization as well as outside for the latest technology developments and trends in industry while also monitoring market developments
- Collaborate closely with various internal departments / laboratories and universities
Job Requirements & Qualifications:- A Master’s Degree holder pursuing PhD in a relevant discipline
- Strong theoretical background in Engine Performance, Combustion, Fluid Mechanics & Numerical Methods
- Strong understanding of Alternate Fuels Technology : LNG, H2 combustion, H2 FCEV
- Cross-domain (thermal, electrical, electronics, structural, …) technical knowledge. Able to provide technical guidance to team members on what, why, and how
- Good to have experience with FMEA, DVP, ISO standards
- Flexibility to work with the different interface components (fuel, air, cooling)
- Good Command on English Language (spoken and written)
- Highly motivated self-starter and team-player with very good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment required with an open mindset
Additionally Preferred:- PhD degree in Alternate Fuel Technology related science
- Master’s in automotive/ Mechanical/Electronics/Electrical engineering.
- Experience with Alternate Fuel Technology system design & developing
- Cost engineering experience or understanding of Alternate Fuel Technology cost structure
- Ability to provide local and remote field site support/analysis for own project and help others
