Stock Clerk

PLEASE NOTE - this is a SECOND SHIFT POSITION.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Receive, identify, store and distribute a variety of raw material, work in process, manufactured or purchased parts and assemblies to stage prescribed materials for fabrication, additional processing, assembly or direct shipment as replacement parts orders.
  • Receive directions from supervisor. Work from computer generated pick lists, sales orders, purchase orders, stock transfer sheets, back order sheets, stock requisitions. Use powered lift truck, various sizes of containers, pallet racks and bins for the transfer, transport and storage of materials that consist of various grades of steel plate, purchased parts and subassemblies.
  • Receive and store material in designed yard areas, or shelf and bin location in warehouse. Assign storage location, as required, within established procedures. Identify and verify material as to quantity and specifications.
  • Pick material orders in accordance with system picking lists, shop orders, or sales orders and issue material for part replacement orders, additional machining or fabrication in the plant or vendor location and for assembly of company products. Document shortages, should they exist, document material shortages and forward shortage list to kit Coordinators in the MSC. Accumulate defective material notices from assembly for preparation of purchased parts replacement orders and pass on to Quality Control.
  • Post quantities received and issued in general stores items to stock record cards. Generate requisitions for replenishment in accordance with maximum/minimum prescribed procedures. Detect and report defective material, unusual conditions, and questionable data on pulling lists, to the proper supervisor.
  • Maintain 5S practices in your working area in neat and orderly condition. Service lift trucks with oil, gasoline, or propane, as appropriate, place electric truck batteries on charge at the close of each shift and make out operator check-off sheet as prescribed.
  • Follow all prescribed safety regulations.
  • Duties May Include: unloading of Hazardous Material, loading of Hazardous Waste for Shipping, transportation of Hazardous Material/Hazardous Waste via Powered Industrial Vehicle.

Level of Education

  • High School diploma
