Financial Analyst

Volvo Group Canada Inc., is currently looking for an effective and independent Financial Analyst to fill a vacant position within his current team. The location of the job is flexible and will be located in one of the Prevost facilities (Dorval, Sainte-Foy or Sainte-Claire).

WHAT IS EXPECTED:

Reporting to the Tax Manager with cross functional reporting to Chief Accountant, our Financial Analyst is a Member of the Canada Accounting and Company control team supporting the mainly business activities for Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks Canada as well as other business activities and Tax and accounting for the legal entity Volvo Group Canada Inc.

He/She is responsible to ensure accuracy & timely Sales taxes reporting and accuracy & compliance of accounting records within our legal entities.

CORE RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Anaylse & prepare monthly entries to secure the accuracy in the financial statements;
  • Analyse & prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations for various accounts;
  • Accurate and timely preparation of Sales Taxes reports including investigations and documentation;
  • Coordinate & prepare Excise Tax, Tire Fees and Environmental Handling Charge reporting on a timely and accurately matter;
  • Reconcile inter-companies monthly transactions invoving different entities & countries in Volvo;
  • Analyse & reconcile leases to respect IFRS16;
  • Perform other closing activities as required;
  • Participate in audits performed by internal or external auditors;
  • Support statutory and compliance reporting as required;
  • Build relationships with internal partners.
  • Support and participate in other projects as defined by management;
  • Focus on process improvement, automation and cross team support.

WHAT YOU NEED :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting
  • Experience working in SAP finance systems or similar General ledger accounting system
  • Proficiency in French & English is required
  • Advanced Excel skills and office 365 suite required
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to analyse and document business processes with attention to details.
