Several ocean summits were held as part of the Volvo Ocean Race 2017/18 sustainability initiative. The ocean peaks deal with the state of the world's oceans. Plastic pollution is a particular focus.

The events bring together high-ranking political decision-makers as well as actors from business, science and sport to draw attention to the topic and to promote a culture of change. Furthermore, it is about concrete solutions that help to move away from plastic.
