    Volvo Trucks leads heavy-duty electrification

    Volvo Trucks North America continues to lead the transition to electromobility, with more than 700 Volvo VNR Electric trucks now operating across the United States and Canada. Together, these vehicles have logged more than 20 million zero-tailpipe-emission miles, eliminating an estimated 34,000 metric tons of CO₂—the equivalent of taking more than 7,000 passenger cars off the road for a full year.

    Side curtain airbags now standard in new Volvo trucks

    Volvo Trucks North America announced that integrated side curtain airbags will now be standard equipment on new Volvo truck models built for the North American market. This marks another industry first for Volvo Trucks. Volvo Trucks introduced the driver front airbag in 1996 with the launch of the VN model and made it standard equipment going forward.

    Sales start for Volvo Trucks new regional hauler

    Volvo Trucks North America officially opened orders for the all-new Volvo VNR, a Class 8 truck designed for regional and urban haul. The new VNR delivers greater fuel efficiency, safety and connectivity. The truck is now available for order at Volvo Trucks dealerships across the U.S. and Canada, with production on track to begin in February 2026 at the New River Valley Plant in Virginia.
