Head of People and Culture, Health & Safety (M/F)


We offer a challenging and motivating journey within Volvo Construction Equipment, in Belley (01, France)! In an agile mindset, seeking for continuous improvement, we are looking for an experienced HR professional who is eager to actively support, enable and develop locally the VCE philosophy in order for the site and its employees to deliver on their business objectives, supporting Volvo AB strategy in the shift toward electromobility.
As Head of People and Culture, Health and Safety, you will support directly the General Manager for Compact excavators and be part of the Site Governance Team: the Business Management Team (BMT). With a dotted line to the Heads of People and Culture of Volvo CE Functions which are present on site: Operations, Technology, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing, IT, you will lead a team of HR Business Partners, with shared Admin support. You will also be in charge of Health & Safety management, with the support of specialists and the Occupational nurse.

Your responsibilities :

One of the key targets of the role is to support, coach, and facilitate this transformation, keeping in mind the wellbeing at work and attractiveness of our Company.
  • You integrate and embody the leadership and collaboration principles, to encourage your team to take initiatives
  • You are the country’s voice (France) in the Volvo CE HR Networks and in HR Country Committee, which means coordination and leadership with other Volvo organizations
  • You coach & mentor the management team, HR team on HR and health related issues
  • You actively support managers to create engagement and 100% involvement from all employees.
  • You support the organization toward competences shift (new technologies & ways of working), change management and continuous improvement with a structured approach
  • You ensure that laws, policies and procedures/processes are followed within your organization with consistency and equity, as well as employees
Your profile:
  • You have 10+ years of experience in HR processes and competences, with relevant Master Degree in HR or business administration (University degree in HRM and/or Business School, MBA)
  • You demonstrate 5+ years in a team management position
  • You are fluent in French & English
  • Coaching, Leading, challenging, giving and receiving feedbacks have no secret for you
  • You operate easily in organizational Development, teamwork and networking
  • You think continuous improvement and walk the talk to build trust amongst all the employees
