Senior Software Engineer - NodeJS

What You Will Do
In this role, you will be a Node.js back-end developer in the Digital Product Factory team. You will be a contributor toward planning, developing, and implementing back-end solutions as well as work with designers and software engineers to develop modern & intuitive applications. You will enable the development of high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code and secure implementation of effective security protocols, data protection measures and storage solutions as well as focus on continuous code improvements to optimize performance.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of total IT experience
  • Minimum 3 years of recent practical experience in Node.js microservice development, building API and scripts in a Node.js environment
  • Should be well-versed in asynchronous programming & event loops and know its quirks and workarounds.
  • Worked on any RDBMS or NoSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience in the code repository / CI&CD including GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitLab and others
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
  • Experience in Node.js profiling tools is an advantage
  • Experience in SCRUM methodology is an added advantage
  • Experience from mentoring and technical coaching, as well as
    experience from a technical responsibility role (e.g., making and
    defending technical decisions within the team and externally to
    safeguard the team — using soft skills to anchor the decision).
  • You have an interest for the business needs and the full picture of
    what the team is doing (e.g., how the technical components will
    interact with external factors).
  • Experience from building distributed systems and good understanding of how to handle common challenges and pitfalls within software development and a good know how of eventual consistency, macro-/microservices, serverless and distributed patterns
