The agreement between Volvo CE and McClung-Logan Virginia was signed on December 6, 2004. Closing will take place on December 31, 2004.
Volvo CE purchased the assets associated with the Volvo construction equipment business of LB Smith, its distributor for a majority of the East Coast of the United States in May 2003. Since that acquisition, Volvo CE has continued the operations of the former dealer at all existing locations under the name LB Smith while negotiating the sale and divestment of its territories.
Under the terms of the agreement between Volvo CE and McClung-Logan Virginia, the latter will serve its new market area from current Virginia LB Smith branch facilities in Glen Allen (Richmond), Salem (Roanoke), Chesapeake, and Wise. Complete information on the operations of the new dealership will be available upon the completion of the transaction in late December.
McClung-Logan Equipment Company has been a dealer for Volvo construction equipment since 1983 and serves a construction equipment customer base in Maryland, Delaware and northern Virginia. McClung-Logan Equipment Company and Power Equipment Company, Denver, Colorado, are wholly-owned subsidiaries of M-L Holdings, Inc.

Volvo CE tecknar överenskommelse om försäljning av återförsäljaren LB Smith Virginia
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) och McClung-Logan Virginia LLC, ett dotterbolag till McClung-Logan Equipment Company, Inc, Baltimore, Maryland, har tecknat en överenskommelse om försäljning av Volvo CE:s återförsäljare LB Smith´s verksamhet i Virginia till McClung-Logan Virginia.
Överenskommelsen mellan Volvo CE och McClung-Logan Virginia undertecknades den
6 december 2004. Affären kommer att slutföras den 31 december 2004.
Volvo CE förvärvade i maj 2003 den affärsdel av LB Smith, Inc, som var knuten till distributionen av Volvos anläggningsmaskiner. LB Smith, Inc, var Volvo CE:s största distributör i östra delen av USA. Sedan förvärvet har Volvo CE fortsatt driften på de existerande verksamhetsorterna under namnet LB Smith, medan förhandlingar om försäljning och uppdelning av distributionsområdet samtidigt pågått.
Enligt överenskommelsen mellan Volvo CE och McClung-Logan Virginia, kommer McClung-Logan Virginia att leda verksamheten på den nya marknaden från nuvarande Virginia LB Smith´s avdelningskontor i Glen Allen (Richmond), Salem (Roanoke), Chesapeake och Wise. Fullständig information om den nya återförsäljarens verksamhet kommer att finnas tillgänglig vid tiden för övertagandet i slutet av december.
McClung-Logan Equipment Company har varit återförsäljare av Volvos anläggningsmaskiner sedan 1983 och har sin kundbas i Maryland, Delaware och norra Virginia. McClung-Logan Equipment Company och Power Equipment Company, Denver, Colorado är helägda dotterbolag till M-L Holdings, Inc.
