Volvo Aero completes acquisition of Aero-Craft

Volvo Aero's planned acquisition of the Aero-Craft company has now been completed. As a result, the strategic alliance with Carlton Forge Works can be realized. Consequently, Volvo Aero can now expand its offering of specialized components to include fan cases.

Aero-Craft, located outside Hartford, Connecticut, in northeastern US, has about 35 employees and sales of about USD 5 M.
The company is a supplier to such major aircraft engine manufacturers as Pratt & Whitney and General Electric as well as to other component manufacturers, including MTU and Volvo Aero. Aero-Craft mainly produces components for large industrial gas turbines and aircraft engines.

Aero-Craft's deliveries include components to Pratt & Whitney's military engines. Approval of the American authorities was a requirement for the completion of Volvo Aero's acquisition. This has been received and at the beginning of this week the transaction was completed formally at a ceremony and Volvo Aero took over operations.

Among other services, Aero-Craft will support Volvo Aero in Sweden when required with rough machining.

Volvo Aeros förvärv av Aero-Craft genomfört

Volvo Aero har nu genomfört det planerade förvärvet av företaget Aero-Craft. Därmed kan också den strategiska alliansen med Carlton Forge Works bli verklighet. Det innebär i sin tur att Volvo Aero kan utöka sina specialiseringsdetaljer med fan cases (fläkthus).

Aero-Craft, som ligger utanför Hartford, Connecticut, i nordöstra USA, har cirka 35 anställda och en omsättning på omkring 5 miljoner dollar.

Företaget är leverantör till de stora flygmotortillverkarna, som Pratt & Whitney och General Electric, men också till andra komponenttillverkare i branschen, bland annat MTU och Volvo Aero. Aero-Craft tillverkar framför allt komponenter till stora industriella gasturbiner och till flygmotorer.

Aero-Craft levererar bland annat komponenter till Pratt & Whitneys militära motorer. För att Volvo Aeros förvärv skulle kunna genomföras krävdes bland annat ett godkännande av amerikanska myndigheter. Detta har kommit och i början av veckan avslutades affären formellt vid en ceremoni, varvid Volvo Aero övertog rörelsen.

Aero-Craft kommer bland annat vid behov att stödja Volvo Aero i Sverige med grov bearbetning.
