Volvo Penta invests in Poland

Volvo Penta is starting wholly owned operations in Poland through the acquisition of its independent importer, Marco Motors.

Volvo Penta has had operations in Poland for nearly 50 years, with sales of marine as well as industrial engines. Since 1990 Volvo Penta has been represented by the independent importer Marco Motors, which has successively strengthened Volvo Penta’s position in Poland, particularly as a result of the build-out of a large service and dealer network.

Many of the world’s largest boat builders have started production of boats in Poland in recent years, partly for export and to meet domestic demand. This places new requirements on Volvo Penta’s presence in the country.

Consequently, Volvo Penta is acquiring Marco Motors and establishing the wholly owned company Volvo Penta Polska sp. z o.o., with head office in Szczecin (Stettin) in northwest Poland.

“Poland will become an increasingly larger market for marine and industrial engines.
We are creating new conditions for strengthened relations with our customers and consequently continued future growth, not only in Poland but in the whole region,” says Volvo Penta’s President Göran Gummeson.

Volvo Penta satsar i Polen

Volvo Penta startar helägd verksamhet i Polen genom att förvärva sin fristående importör, Marco Motors.

Volvo Penta har haft verksamhet i Polen i snart 50 år med försäljning av både marinmotorer och industrimotorer. Sedan 1990 har Volvo Penta representerats av den fristående importören Marco Motors, som successivt stärkt Volvo Pentas ställning i Polen, inte minst tack vare utbyggnaden av ett stort service- och återförsäljarnät.

Många av världens största båtbyggare har på senare år startat tillverkning av båtar i Polen, dels för export utomlands och dels för att kunna möta en ökad inhemsk efterfrågan, och detta ställer nya krav på Volvo Pentas närvaro i landet.

Volvo Penta förvärvar därför Marco Motors och startar därmed det helägda bolaget Volvo Penta Polska sp. z o.o., med huvudkontor i Szczecin (Stettin) i den nordvästra delen av landet.

- Polen kommer att bli en allt större marknad för marin- och industrimotorer. Vi skapar nu förutsättningar för stärkta relationer med våra kunder och därmed fortsatt framtida tillväxt, inte bara i Polen utan i hela regionen, säger Volvo Pentas VD Göran Gummeson.
