Volvo IT is helping the City of Göteborg to raise its security levels in IT operations. The order was placed by ADB-kontoret, the local government unit responsible for IT and operational development for municipal companies and local government services.

ADB-kontoret will cooperate with Volvo IT to increase disaster-readiness. In the event of a complete breakdown at ADB-kontoret’s computer centre, mainframe operations will quickly be switched to Volvo IT’s operations centre in Göteborg.

“Together with ADB-kontoret we are creating a security solution that will hopefully never need to be used,” says Olle Högblom, Marketing Director at Volvo IT.

Volvo IT’s operations centre in Göteborg is one of the largest in the Nordic region. The computer centres lie deep underground.

“We consider Volvo IT meets our strict demands for knowledge about IT security coupled with cost-efficiency,” says Gunmai Karlsson, head of purchasing at ADB-kontoret.
Volvo IT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AB Volvo and supplies IT solutions and services to both the automotive industry and other sectors.
